What Our Guests Say About Us

Beautiful luxury villa

We stayed at villa gradi in the run up to our wedding in dubrovnik and it was the perfect choice! The villa is absolutely beautiful with a large shaded terrace at the front which gets a cooling breeze from the river as well as a fantastic pool at the back which had a shallow section suitable for young kids. Theres a full size pool table & darts board. There was pleanty of space for our large group to socialise together as well as quiet spaces if people wanted to split off, we never felt on top of each other. The bedrooms are all lovely and comfortable and the layout allowed our 2 familys to mix while having their own space. On the day of the wedding we got ready at the villa & the photographer fell in love with the location, making me late to the alter! Not a problem though as the photos will be amazing! There is a small supermarket 10mins walk away and a bus which takes you into dubrovnik (approx 30mins) and drops you at the pile gate. The bus goes via the port so if your fancing a boat trip or the catamaran to split its accessable. Anti and his family were so helpful & accomodating, and even collected us from the supermarket after a big shop. We would definately recommend staying at villa gradi!

“Charming, historic, comfortable, spacious villa with helpful owners in waterfront Dubrovnik area- our best vacation ever”

Twelve of us, ages 55-83, gathered in the Stojan's hundreds year old waterfront Villa Gradi, built as the "summer house" for an early wealthy Dubrovnik leader. There is so much space inside with two huge living rooms, large bedrooms with modern bathrooms for each (even including hairdryers) and a kitchen table that seats many, But we mostly lived outside in the multiple delightful gathering spaces, each enhanced by gorgeous flowering plants and comfortable seating. (There;s nothing more pleasant than sharing wine and cheese overlooking the water from the gazebo, or sipping morning coffee from the summer kitchen area, or celebrating my 80th birthday dinner on the front patio.) Ante and his mother are available and helpful, but in no way intrusive. (Provided us a nice lunch upon our arrival)

One is near but far enough away from the historic walled city of Dubrovnik, about 10 minutes by car and 20 minutes by a local bus that comes within short walking distance of the villa. Easy parking at the villa for our four cars. A boat picked us up nearly at our door for an all day trip to three islands. Other day trips to Bosnia and Montenegro kept us busy throughout the week. We found many good restaurants just a few minutes drive away...great fresh seafood. The Croatian people generally speak English and were friendly and helpful. One needed to be willing to do steps to enjoy the villa--not my favorite thing, but good for me. (not a place for the truly handicapped)

Villa Gradi is an extraordinary place--All twelve of us ( a mixture of family and friends) would tell you it was one of our best vacations ever.

“Paradise”

I have booked this villa for our mid-September stay in Dubrovnik. My now wife and I have planned to get married in Dubrovnik and have been looking for an appropriate accommodation for our close family and us. Villa Gradi looked quite impressive on the picture but has totally blown my mind ones I first seen it in person. The space is absolutely huge and I started losing parts of my family between all different terraces and halls. Since we had quite few guests regularly visiting us during our stay the excessive outside space during the sunny days was absolutely brilliant. Not to mentioned that terraces are placed on different levels so you could have few different groups getting together on same time, which is very helpful if you have family and friends speaking different languages ;-). Also there is lovely pool area that is again elevated with stunning views and offers brilliant relaxing retreat during day and night (did I mention it includes bar and Jacuzzi!).

Villa includes beautifully designed kitchen with very cosy atmosphere. If you prefer outside cooking, there is also outside kitchen “in addition” to BBQ space. Ante was very kind to provide us with coal and bbq material so we ended up having BBQ every second day. Vegetable and fruits are growing everywhere in their lovely garden and owner was happy with us using it.
We had quite few children staying with us and they loved it as it offered great space for them to play. Two cats residing at property deserve my full admiration for their endurance and patience.
Ante was lovely host. He offered us all help we needed. He also left us staying few hours longer as our flight was departing later afternoon (not to mention that we also checked in earlier than agreed). He also allowed us to use their speed boat and organized skipper for us in last minute. This has resulted in beautiful and unforgettable experience at the end of our stay.
I could go on and on like this, but there are little words that would describe the homey and blissful feeling you have while staying in this villa. It is place that makes you feel being at your own home (only nicer ;-)) from very beginning and wants you coming back all over again. My wife and I and our family are thankful for having the opportunity to acquire some unforgettable memories at this wonderful place.

“Very Nice Villa (Quality/Price ration) and Excellent Service by Ante”

The Villa is very well located, at about 10 mns driving from the Old Town, in a very particular geographical area which makes the summer nights very cool. The Service and generosity provided by Mr Ante and his mom are unique. We were about 11 people (couples, singles, families) enjoying our time in the pool, the BBQ, the ping pong table and the Billiard.

Mr ante helped in organizing anything we wanted such as boat rental with skipper, guide, taxi, advices about restaurants, sightseeing and so on

I would recommend Mr Ante and his Villa to anybody looking to enjoying some holidays in Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea.
